Sagiova, Marketa, 1901-
Marketa Sagiova started playing the piano at age six, and at the age of eight was accepted as a student by Professor Bloch of the Liszt Ferencz Academy in Budapest (then the Royal Academy of Music). At sixteen she began studying singing at the same academy, before relocating to Vienna to continue her study. After completing her training, Marketa Sagiova gave concerts in Budapest, Bratislava and other cities in Hungary, and sang with the Budapest Philharmonic Orchestra and Symphonic Orchestra in Hungary. She moved to to England in 1938 and became a British citizen, migrating to Australia with her son after World War II.
