Travelers Aid Society of San Diego.
The Travelers Aid movement started in St. Louis, Missouri in 1821 when Bryan Nullanphy left one third of his estate to assist persons traveling to the West. The Travelers Aid Society of San Diego was formed in 1914 primarily to provide aid and assistance to women travelers. The San Diego Branch was originally affiliated with the Young Women's Christian Association (YWCA) and, during World War II, the United Service Organizations (USO).
