Financier of mining companies and land developments; resident of Stockton and later of San Francisco, Calif. He served as president of Clary Gold Mining Company, was on the Board of Directors of Boulder Mining Company, and held investments in Etna-King Mining Company, Old Bonanza Mining Company, Rose Creek Mine, and West Point Reduction Works. Smith also served as president of the Bank of Port Angeles in Port Angeles, Wash.
