Moritz Schweizer was born on August 13, 1900, in Euskirchen. After escaping to Amsterdam, Schweizer worked for the Joodsche Raad. He was deported to Westerbork, where he was in charge of the Orphanage Home in Westerbork before his deportation to Bergen-Belsen. Schweizer was liberated by Soviet troops in the village of Tröbitz while on a transport from Bergen-Belsen to another camp. After the liberation, Schweizer organized the burial of approximately 150 victims on April 27, 1945, in the village of Tröbitz. He kept a diary in which he listed the names of the victims. Moritz Schweizer died he died on November 16, 1982, in Miami Beach.
