The Daniel M. Sachs Scholarship was established in 1968 by the Princeton University Class of 1960 in memory of Daniel Sachs, a class member who died of brain cancer at the age of 28. Sachs had been a varsity football player and upon graduation went on to study at Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar. In recognition of this legacy, the scholarship awards one member of Princeton's senior class with a grant and the opportunity to study for two years at Oxford's Worcester College, or in lieu of this option, a travel fellowship. The scholarship is not limited to students in any one discipline or area, and the winner is selected by a committee made up of former scholarship recipients.
