English, William L., ca. 1842-1877.
William L. English, born in Jacksonville, Illinois, served as 1st Lt. of Co. I, 7th United States Infantry, during the Indian campaigns. He died at Deer Lodge, Montana, from wounds received at the battle of Big Hole in the Nez Percé War.
