Nittany Lion Inn

The Nittany Lion Inn opened under the management of the Treadway Corporation in 1931, and became a self-supporting arm of the Pennsylvania State College (now University) in 1948. In 1952, a renovation project added 75 rooms and in 1957 the Inn doubled in size with a new wing and coffee shop. The Inn was totally refurbished in 1970 and the guest rooms were redecorated in 1977. In 1991, another renovation took place including the addition of a new wing with 80 guest rooms.
