Warner Lincoln Marsh was born on Feb. 12, 1899 in Mt. Pleasant, IA; attended Morningside College, 1917-21; he began his career as a landscape draftsman in Nebraska and Iowa; began working as a landscape architect for the Los Angeles City Park Dept. in 1925; in addition to his private practice as a planning consultant and landscape architect, he was employed as a research director for the Los Angeles County Dept. of Rehabilitation (1935-36), and as deputy director for the California State Dept. of Natural Resources (1940-43); published, Landscape vocabulary (1964).
