Simons, George W.
Variant namesProfessional engineer, city planner and municipal planning and zoning consultant. Born in Portland, Oregon in 1891; moved to Jacksonville, Fla., in 1916. In his forty year career, he was retained by more than seventy municipalities to prepare planning documents. He had many professional affiliations in Jacksonville with engineering, planning, public works and other organizations and was a civic leader in numerous roles. He retired in 1970 and died in 1977.
