The Wyoming Poultry Association was first organized in 1936 as the Wyoming Poultry and Improvement Association.The name was changed in 1940. It was a branch of the National Poultry Association.The National Poultry Association was approved by the Secretary of Agriculture in 1935. In Wyoming each county had a poultry association whose activities were overseen by the state association. The Wyoming Poultry Association was affiliated with the University of Wyoming College of Agriculture and Agricultural Extension Service. Professor Maurice H. Meshew taught a Short Course on Poultry Flock Management at the request of the association.
