Thomson, Alexander, 1800-1866.
Medical practitioner and pastoralist. One of the earliest settlers in the Port Phillip district and influential in the early civic development of Geelong. Prominent in separation and anti-transportation movements. Prominent in drafting constitution. MLC (N.S.W.) 1843-1844; MLC (Vic.) 1852-1854; MLA (Vic.) 1857-1859, 1859-1861.
