Brainerd, Mary Bowen
Mary Bowen Brainerd received her Ph.D from the University of Chicago in 1897 from the Graduate School of Arts and Literature. Her dissertation is titled “The Influence of Petrarch on the Elizabethan Sonnet.” While at Chicago, Brainerd lived in Foster Hall.
Bowen married W.H. Brainerd. The couple lived in Wellesley, Massachusetts.
