Wentworth, Cheswell, 1746 - 1817.
Wentworth Cheswell was one of the most prominent African-Americans in New Hampshire society in the late 18th and early 19th century. Cheswell served in the Revolutionary War and in numerous capacities for the town of Newmarket until his death in 1817. See the History of Newmarket (977.8b N5562b) for more information.
