Tucker, Donald, 1935-
Variant namesDonald L. Tucker served in the Florida House and as House Speaker during the 1960s and 1970s. He was born on July 23, 1935, in Wakulla County, Florida. He served in the United States Army and was educated at Brighman Young University, the University of Utah, and received his law degree from the University of Florida. In 1977, he was recruited for a position in the Carter administration in the Civil Aeronautics Board, but he withdrew his nomination due to controversy over financial dealings. In 1978, he reopened his Tallahassee law practice.
