Peruzzi family.

Hide Profile

The Peruzzi had been an important banking family through the fourteenth century, but by the seventeenth century their financial influence had waned considerably. They remained a prominent and prosperous Florentine family, however. According to the title page, the account book was begun after the death of Giovanni Battista Peruzzi, who had become family patriarch after his brother Simone. Simone's sons, Bindo Giovanni Battista and Bindo Bartolommeo, took over the family business upon the death of their uncle.
