Niebuhr, Friedrich Heinrich, 1837-1927.
Niebuhr came from the small community of Industry, Texas, which had been settled by German immigrants, and served in a Civil War company composed in the main of German speakers. After his capture during the Vicksburg Campaign, he spent the rest of the war in a prison camp in Indiana.
