Son of Samuel Holden Parsons and Emeline (Bulkley) Hall was born in Rocky Hill, Conn., Dec. 15,1835; graduated from Yale in 1856; and on June 11,1860, married Alexandrine Louise Godfrey; in Detroit. With L.R.Clark and others he established the State Bank of Michigan, later merged with the First National Bank; entered the grain commission business in 1863; formed partnership as Gillett & Hall, continuing until 1888, when he retired.
