Sickles, Noel
Variant namesCartoonist and illustrator. Born in Chillicothe, Ohio in 1910, Sickles began his career as political cartoonist for the Ohio State journal in Columbus. After moving to New York in the 1930's he worked for the Associated Press and drew the Scorchy Smith strip when its creator died. Later he worked as an illustrator for Life magazine and other publications. Died in 1982.
