Peabody, Helen Lee
Variant namesHelen Peabody, beauty operator and author, was born in Auburndale, Mass., August 9, 1898. She received her A.B. from Radcliffe (1921) and did graduate work at Radcliffe (1922-1923) and at the Yale Drama School (1923-1924). She played in off-Broadway shows, was a make-up artist, and then teacher at the Cosmetic Institute in New York City. Her writings include Lift Up Your Face (1975) about the interrelationship of beauty and character.
