Jones, David Morgan

David Morgan Jones was born in Marshallville, Georgia. he received a Bachelor's degree in English from Emory University and a Master's degree in English from the University of Georgia. Jones served two years in the U.S. Army and taught classes at the University of Georgia and the Lovett School. In 1966 he joined the faculty of Kennesaw Junior College as Assistant Professor of English.

From 1973 to 1974 Jones served as the Acting Assistant Dean at Kennesaw Junior College. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 1976. Kennesaw College reorganized its academic units in 1983, creating the Department of Liberal Studies, which Prof. Jones chaired until his retirement in 1990. During his tenure at Kennesaw State University, Jones was a faculty advisor for "The Sentinel" student newspaper.
