Martell, Charles B. (Charles Bowling), 1909-
Variant namesCharles Bowling Martell was born October 7, 1909, in Boston, Mass. He received his commission as Ensign in the U.S. Navy in 1930, and advanced to the rank of vice admiral in 1961. He commanded the U.S.S. Mississippi from 1954 to 1955, and retired in 1967.
