Knox's Headquarters State Historic Site (Vails Gate, N.Y.)

The stone house built by Col. Thomas Ellison served as Maj. Gen. Henry Knox's headquarters during the Revolution. It remained in the Ellison family until 1891. It was purchased by the Knox Headquarters Association in 1918 and transferred to New York State in 1922.
