Groninger, Homer M. (Homer McLaughlin), 1884-1963
Variant namesHomer McLaughlin Groninger (b. July 24, 1884-d. Sept. 26, 1963) was born in Port Royal, Pennsylvania. He received his commission in the cavalry form West Point in 1908. He advanced to the rank of brigadier general in October 1940, then major general in August 1945. He was commanding general of the San Francisco Port of Embarkation from June 1945 until his retirement in December 1946.
