The Thatcher Brothers Baking Company financed the 1890 construction of the Thatcher Opera house as part of a larger building in Logan, Utah, that also contained a bank and two stores. For more than two decades the 800-seat theater served as one of Logan's cultural centers, showing dozens of operas, plays, concerts, and minstrel shows. The building was destroyed by a fire on April 17, 1912. It stood in the southwest block of Main and Center, where the Wells Fargo building and the Ellen Eccles Theater stand today.
