Lyndon A. Haight was born in Pine Plains, New York, and went to Syracuse University. In later life he lived in Auburn, New York and prior to his retirement was the treasurer of the Beacon Milling Company of Cayuga, New York. Mr. Haight was the author of Pine Plains and the Railroads (Pine Plains, NY: Little Nine Partners Historical Society, 1976). He had an avid interest in the railroads of New York State, particularly the Central New England Railway.
