Davis, William Lee
Variant namesWilliam Leonard Davis, the son of Joseph M. and Mary Davis, was born in Rutland, Vermont in November, 1865. He resided in Rutland and was City Treasurer for a period of over 25 years, beginning ca. 1895. William L. Davis served as Captain of the Rutland Company No. 3 of the Vermont Knights of Pythias from approximately 1898 to 1907 and as Deputy Grand Chancellor of Vermont Lodge No. 1 in 1903. William L. Davis and his wife, Phila A., (married ca. 1895) had one daughter, Madeline E. Davis (born ca. 1904).
