Teacher, postmaster, clerk of district court, county auditor, businessman, estate administrator, and secretary of Board of Pilot Commissioners for the District of Puget Sound; of Port Townsend, Wash.; b. in Thomaston, Me.; left Maine for California in 1854, arriving in San Francisco in Sept., and three months afterwards moved to Port Ludlow, W.T.; relocating to Port Townsend where became a teacher in 1860.
