There is little biographical information about Ernest D. Chapman, a weaver who lived in Clark's Falls, Conn. and South Berwick, Me. He and Harmon Goodman, a fellow weaver from South Berwick, are both mentioned in "A Book of Hand-Woven Coverlets," by Eliza Hall Calvert (1922), and "A Handweaver's Source Book: A Selection of 224 Patterns from the Laura M. Allen Collection," edited by Marguerite Porter Davison (1953).
