Editor of Australian Broadcasting Commission news service furing the war. Dixon lobbied for an independent news service at the Parliamentary Committee on Broadcasting and later established the independent news service of the ABC.

Journalist and editor, born 1890. Began work on Grafton Argus in 1906. Managing editor of the Maitland Daily Mercury, then editor of ABC News Services, 1936-1949. Appointed Federal News Executive of the ABC in 1949, he retired in 1950. Died 1991.
