High, James L. (James Lambert), 1844-1898
Variant namesChicago lawyer, law professor and author of legal books. Husband of Ellen Tredway High with whom he had two children: Jessie Margaret High Ennis and Shirley Tredway High.
James High was a member of the 40th and 49th Wisconsin Infantries during the Civil War, and assistant to the United States District Attorney of Utah Territory in 1871 when charges were brought against Brigham Young.
