Prominent friend of the governor of Mobile, Jean Baptiste Le Moyne Bienville (1680-1767), and one of the military officers and early colonists at Fort Louis sent by the directors of the colony of Louisiana to Mobile in August of 1718, having been named by that time a Chevalier of the Order of St. Louis.
