John Reynolds Totten lived in New York City.
The progenitors of the Thatchers were Samuel of Watertown, MA who died there in 1669 and Richard who came from England to Pennsylvania in 1685. The bulk of the records though, cover the descendants of Reverend Thomas Thacher through eleven generations. Thacher, a Puritan, son of the Reverend Peter Thacher, was born in England in 1620 and emigrated to America with his uncle at the age of 15. He arrived at Ipswich, Ma in 1635 and became a pastor of a church in Boston.
