Livingston, Paul Vane, 1919-1998.

Paul Vane Livingston was born in 1919. He worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and came north to Alaska in 1958. Livingston worked in Port Moller, on Shemya Island, in Clear, and in the Fairbanks area. Livingston founded the Birch Hill Press, printing and distributing newsletters and other publications. "The Tundra Transcript", Livingston's multivolumed description of life in Alaska, began publication in the spring of 1959 as a pastime of the author, while he was working on the Clear Project. Livingston was also a mountaineer. Livingston died in 1998.
