In 1911, a devastating fire destroyed the Cincinnati Chamber of Commerce building designed by famed architect H.H. Richardson. While the building was destroyed, the stones that lined the outside of the building remained intact. In the 1970's efforts were made to collect the stones and create a monument in Burnett woods for the fallen building and the architect. Dedicated in 1972, the memorial still stands in Burnett woods and while the original plaque was stolen several years ago, efforts are now underway to replace the plaque for the Burnett Woods monument.
