Manwaring, William Henry, 1825-1905.
William Henry Manwaring born in Maidstone, Kent, England. He was a member of the Metropolitan Police, London (1845-1854) and a member of the Land Transport Corps in the Crimean War (1854). He sailed from London to Melbourne aboard the "Roxburgh Castle" 22 September 1856 - 6 February 1857. He joined the Victorian Detective Police in 1857, retiring in 1880. He died in Carlton, Victoria.
