E.T. Dunlap was born in Cravens, Okla. in 1914. He received his B.S. from Southeastern State in Durant and his M.S. (1942) and Ed. D. (1956) from Oklahoma A & M College. Dunlap served as Chancellor of the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education from 1961-1981 and was chairman of the Board of Directors of the Oklahoma Student Loan Authority. He authored "The History of Legal Controls of Public Higher Education in Oklahoma" as well as several articles on education.
Founded December 1890 as Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical (A & M) College; officially became Oklahoma State University in 1957.
