The Council on Research was formed in 1928 to coordinate research across the college. This group also advised the president on distributing funding to various projects. In 1949, committee members included a dean from each undergraduate school, directors of research in the various schools, the College treasurer, and the librarians. The Council annually printed, Publications and Research, Research in Progress, and Policy and Procedure in Research. All important research contributions made by faculty are included in Publication and Research. Research in Progress lists the purpose, accomplishments and financing of all research projects conducted during the year.
