Hon. Stephen Thurston Farwell, son of Deacon John and Hannah (Thurston) Farwell, b. 21 June 1805 Fitchburg, MA; d. 20 October 1872 Cambridge, MA; m. 1834 Elizabeth Carlton Todd; moved to Cambridge in 1831; made Deacon of the Shepard Congregational Church in Cambridge in 1837; Treasurer American Education Society (1845-1872); general agent of the Massachusetts Bible Society (1848-1872); Treasurer Massachusetts Home Missionary Society; and also served as Massachusetts house of representatives and in the senate.
