Biographical note: William Timberline Sparks enlisted in the Arizona Rangers in 1903 and served several terms of enlistment. He owned the Lone Star Saloon in Naco; was married and had two daughters, Evelyn (Effie) and Ava. Sparks memoirs were published as "The Apache Kid and Other Old West Stories" in 1926.
