Barrow, C. J.

C. J. Barrow enlisted in the 5th Company of the Washington Artillery, Army of Tennessee, on July 4, 1863. Barrow was wounded at Resaca, May 14, 1864, and at Peach Tree Creek, July 20, 1864. Organized in 1838, the Washington Artillery fought in the War with Mexico as Persifal Smith's Regiment. It was reorganized in 1852 as the Washington Artillery and was composed of prominent men of New Orleans; it was an active unit of the Confederate Army during the Civil War.
