Tillinghast, Joseph Alexander
Joseph Alex Tillinghast was graduated from Davidson College in 1891. While a student, he was a member of the Philanthropic Society. After graduation, he attended Cornell University. He was Superintendent of Schools for the deaf in Salem, Oregon and later a professor of Social Science at Converse College in Spartanburg, SC.
