Phillippi, Frank
The Watergate Affair began in June 1972 with the arrest of five men for breaking into the offices of the Democratic National Committee headquarters in the Watergate building in Washington, D.C. Reporters working for the Washington Post uncovered a connection to the Richard M. Nixon Administration, and this revelation led to Nixon's resignation in 1974.
