Planters, of Hampton Plantation, South Santee River, Charleston County, S.C.; Frederick Rutledge (1769-1821) was husband of Harriott Pinckney Horry Rutledge (1770-1858) and father of Edward Cotesworth Rutledge (1798-1860), Frederick Rutledge (1800-1884), Henrietta Middleton Rutledge (1807-1842), and five other children; Lt. Edward Cotesworth Rutledge was husband of Rebecca Motte Lowndes Rutledge and father of Harriott Horry.
