Grier, Jimmie, 1902-1959
Variant namesJimmie Grier played with Gus Arnheim before he became the leader of his own popular jazz band in the 1930s. During World War II he played with Rudy Vallee in the Coast Guard. He played the saxophone, the clarinet, and the violin; and he was the composer of the popular song, "Object of My Affection".
