Clarence T. De Graff was a 1921 graduate of Calvin College and received both masters and doctoral degrees from the University of Michigan. Prior to joining the faculty of Hope High School in 1928, he taught at Holland Christian High School for seven years, serving as principal and coach in addition to his teaching duties. He was appointed instructor in English at Hope College in 1934. He taught English at Hope until his retirement in 1973.
