Timbres, Harry, 1899-1937
Variant namesHarry and Rebecca Timbres were Quaker relief workers in India and Eastern Europe, especially Russia, under the auspices of the American Friends Service Committee for periods in the 1920s and 1930s. Harry Timbres was a graduate of Haverford College, class of 1921, and M.D., Johns Hopkins, 1928. Rebecca Timbres was a graduate of Teachers' College, Columbia University, 1918, and of the Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing in 1920. They married in 1922. Harry Timbres died in Russia of typhus in 1937.
