Frederick Slifer, born in St. Paul in 1885, attended the atelier of Emmanuel Masqueray in St. Paul, where he worked as a draftsman for several years. At Masqueray's death in 1917, Slifer joined Frank Abrahamson and Edwin Lundie to complete commissions in Masqueray's office. This partnership was dissolved in 1919 when the commissions were completed and Slifer and Abrahamson continued in partnership until Slifer's death in 1948, while Lundie maintained a private practice in St. Paul. Frank Abrahamson was born in Motley,MN in 1885 and received a B.S. in architecture from the University of Pennsylvania in 1911. He then entered the office of Emmanuel Masqueray. After Slifer's death, Abrahamson practiced alone for several years and died in St. Paul in 1972.
