Hide Profile

Larry Register served as a state senator (1970-1974) and Mayor of Dothan, AL (1987-1989). He was active in community planning, serving on the Alabama Turnpike Authority and, in 2002-2003, on a local panel to select alternate sites for an interstate highway connector. He also initiated Dothan's successful quest to become a "Mural City," and hosted President Ronal Reagan's visit to Dothan in 1986. He is a commercial realtor and has an interest in local history and genealogy. His aunt, Helen Cook Lamb, worked as a court clerk in Florida until her retirement in 1965, then wrote local interest stories. A.J. Register, Larry Register's father, was a life-long railroad worker whose friends included local magnate Wallace D. Malone, Sr.
