Flexner, Hortense, 1885-1973
Variant namesFlexner, a native of Louisville, became a noted poet in the 1910s. She was widely published in popular national magazines. Among her books were Clouds and Cobblestones, This Stubborn Root and Other Poems, North Window and Other Poems, and (children's literature) Chipper, The Wishing Window, and Puzzle Pond. Flexner married political cartoonist Wyncie King.
