Stumpf, Wippert Arnot, 1899-
Wippert Arnot Stumpf was born in Elgin, Illinois on January 20, 1899. He earned a B. S. in 1922 from the University of Illinois and a M. A. and Ph.D. from the University of Chicago in 1934 and 1941, respectively. He came to Duke in 1948 to teach in the Dept. of Education and was considered an authority on school administration. Stumpf retired from Duke in 1968. He died in 1991.
